California Pizza Kitchen $50 Giveaway

We recently got a chance to visit California Pizza Kitchen which is always a treat.  It’s one of my favorite places but it’s a bit of a drive from where I live so it’s rare that we eat there.  We went as a family which is always an adventure with a 4 year old, 2 1/2 year old and an 8 month old.  Their kids menu is awesome though.  My oldest two shared an order of curly mac ‘n cheese. The portion is HUGE and was more than enough for both of them. There are lots of healthy options on the menu.  For example, all of their pastas have the option of multi-grain penne.  Vegetables and fresh fruit are also on the menu as well as $.99 cent desserts like an M&M Sundae or brownie.

California Pizza Kitchen just brought back their popular vegetable salad only this time it’s roasted.  This healthy and delicious salad features roasted artichoke hearts, asparagus, Japanese eggplant, red & yellow peppers, corn and sun-dried tomatoes.  The roasted veggies are served warm over a bed of Romaine lettuce with homemade Dijon balsamic vinaigrette and topped with fresh avocado.  If you’d like a little more protein you can add chicken.  A half salad which is still pretty large is under 300 calories!  I love the sweet taste of the peppers paired with the sun-dried tomatoes and asparagus.  Yum!  All of CPK’s salads are AWESOME.  I never go there without ordering one.

Also new on the menu is Strawberry Shortcake.  It’s description “Fresh strawberries on a shortcake biscuit with homemade whipped cream and candied lemon zest. Available À la Häagen-Dazs.”  Doesn’t that sound (and look!) to die for?  Unfortunately Hubs and I went to town on our meals and didn’t have room to spare for dessert..maybe next time!
