To celebrate the new Candy Land game, we threw a Candy Land Party! Just as the sugar high started to wear off from Halloween, we invited our friends over to decorate cupcakes and play the game. All of the kids had a blast of course! We loaded them up with sugary sweets then asked them to sit down and play a game- a lot to expect from a group of preschoolers! 🙂 Here are some pics and video from the party:
“Travel down the rainbow path on a journey of discovery through enchanted lands filled with sweet surprises around every corner. Create delicious treats at the Cupcake Commons to deliver along the way, participate in a thrilling snowboard race down the Ice Cream Slopes with the Duke of Swirl, take a relaxing train ride through Gummy Hills and climb to the top of Chocolate Mountain. Be sure to make friends with Gramma Gooey, Lord Licorice, Princess Frostine and Princess Lolly of Lollypop Woods throughout your adventure, as you race to meet King Kandy at the grand entrance to the Candy Castle.”
I’m not sure how long Candy Land has been around but I remember playing it as a child. It’s one of the first board games that are simple enough for preschoolers to play. It helps them learn their colors and count and who can resist the whole candy theme?! Hasbro has recently updated the graphics on the game board. The colors are brighter but the game play remains the same- it is a classic after all!
The kids had fun checking out the new board and playing the game. Playing the game one on one with my son is a little easier than trying to get a group of kids aged 2-4 to play it together, especially after cupcakes! I can’t wait until my kids can all play it together.
A Candy Land “Party in a Box” prize pack and information in this post were provided to me by Hasbro through MyBlogSpark. They are also providing one Candy Land game for a lucky reader to win.
