Having three children close in age has meant over 5 years straight of buckling kids into cars seats. Going anywhere is a process. Just getting out of the house isn’t exactly easy. I’ve been anticipating the day when at least one of them could buckle on their own. The day arrived unlike I expected thanks to my middle child’s independent streak. At three McKineley buckles her five point harness on her own now while my five year old still wants (and needs) help most of the time. Still, things are much easier with our new Clek Olli Booster Seat. While I still prefer a booster with a back, I really love the convenience of the Clek. Over the Fourth of July we headed to my in-laws beach house on Guemes Island. Due to long ferry lines we decided to walk, rather than drive onto the ferry. That meant we needed to carry all of our belongings. The booster seat is light enough for my son to carry on his own. The thing I love the best though is how easy it is to install and remove with the the latch system clips. They hold the seat really securely so there’s no need to worry about it slipping out of place yet it can be removed by using the clip release buttons. The second thing I love is that the cover can be removed for washing. It fits quite snugly which is a good thing but it does make it slightly more difficult to remove. Since my oldest is prone to car sickness, a removable and washable cover is a must.
