This has been one of the hottest summers that I can remember. I feel so bad for my children because they are cooped up in the house since it is too hot and humid. If we do go outside, we go swimming and that’s about it. I am so grateful to test products like the Color Me Rocket as I can put it in the basement and the kids go crazy. The Color Me Rocket is a great arts and craft project. It is a huge cardboard rocket that is easily assembled and then children can color, paint or decorate with stickers.
When I first assembled the rocket, I have to admit the directions were a bit confusing as it only contained pictures and not any words. I ended up putting it together wrong (the flaps were on the outside), but it’s easily fixable. It wasn’t hard to put together compared to many toys, but I do wish they could include wording with the pictures. Once I got it together though, my kids went wild! They spent hours playing in the rocket. The rocket is 65″ high and 51″ wide! It’s taller than I am!
I waited to write the review though because I wanted them to go outside and paint the rocket, but the weather has been extremely hot. It has
finally cooled off. I can’t imagine them coloring the rocket with markers since it is so large. My oldest is only 3, so it’s not like the whole thing was going to be a Picasso, but it would take forever one marker at a time. What would be great is if the rocket included paints. This is a great toy though as my kids have blasted off into space many times already!
It is very durable and doesn’t knock over easily and is easy to disassemble also. I love that it is made from 100% recyclable cardboard. You can purchase online for $54.95 or there is also a Color Me House priced at $44.95 as well. Another option is to purchase at a store. Find a location near you.
