Did you know that if you do something everyday for two weeks it becomes a habit? Not all habits are bad. Try CREATING a habit to help you save money. Set a goal and brainstorm some ideas to help keep you on track and commit to sticking with it for at least two weeks.
One of the ways my family saves money is by drinking water instead of soda or other beverages. It’s healthy and it can add up to big savings over a few months or a year. When dining out at restaurants, or even fast food, adding a beverage to your meal commonly adds on $1-$3. Order an ice water instead. Jazz it up with fresh lemon or lime if it is available.
At home, keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator. Even buying bottled water is cheaper than purchasing soda. It will still save you money and the bottles are easy to grab and take along with you. Save even more money if your tap water is good for drinking by buying one of these nalgene water bottles
in a different color for each member of your family. You’ll always know which one is yours and it will make it easy to track how much water you drink each day since there are measurements on the side. Remember to drink 8-10 cups per day to stay well hydrated.
What habits does your family have that save you money?

We have been trying to get into the habit of putting clothes that need to be mended into a separate basket. I won’t realize that my husband’s shirt needs a new button, and it will get put into the dirty laundry, washed, and put away again. If it gets into my mending basket, I know I need to fix it.
It is cheaper than buying new clothes and it is cheaper than washing clean clothes for no reason!
