My youngest daughter’s favorite princess is Cinderella. She’s seen the original movie plenty of times and I’ve taken her to see the musical at The Paramount Theater. We’ve also seen the play locally at our high school. Needless to say, we were very excited to check out Disney Cinderella which just arrived on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere.
The movie stars Cate Blanchett as Stepmother, Lily James as Cinderella and Richard Madden as Prince. Helena Bonham Carter plays Fairy Godmother and Holliday Grainger plays Anastasia.
This modern classic sparks the imagination and retells the fairytale beautifully. “Despite being mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters, a spirited Ella resolves to take charge of her fate. Add a royal ball, a Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham-Carter) and a glass slipper, and suddenly – magic becomes reality!”
My girls especially loved the scene when Fairy Godmother magically transforms a pumpkin into a carriage. It real was magical! As a mom, I really loved the theme of the movie: “Have courage and be kind”.
