What is Wikets? Wikets is a brand new app for the iPhone that allows you to recommend your favorite products, apps and places and network with others to discover new things. It’s super easy and fun to use too. Follow friends (or strangers!) and you’ll see the things they recommend in your feed. If you see something you love you can add it to your wish list or re-rec it (more about re-recing in a minute). You can also comment on recommendations. In the picture above you’ll see a recommendation for All You magazine. The person that recommended it says it’s a great magazine for coupons (I agree!) If you want to add it to your wish list, you’d tap the green wish list button. From there you can pick to include it in one of the following categories:
- Apps
- Books
- Food
- Gadgets
- Gift Ideas
- Home
- My trip to…
More on Re-Recing When you find something you like that someone else has posted to Wikets you can re-rec it. When you tap the re-rec button you’ll have the option to re-rec it to one of the following:
- Wikets
- SMS
Why use Wikets? Well, as if the app isn’t cool enough on it’s own, there’s a reward system too! Wikets will start you off with 200 points when you sign up (400 if you use code mommieswithcents). You’ll also earn points every time someone re-recs one of your recommendations or adds it to their wish list. Cool, right? 2500 points will get you a $25 Amazon Gift Card! The more you use it the more points you’ll earn because your points will start doubling once you reach 500 points in a month.
I’ve only been using it a few days and have racked up over 800 points! One of my favorite things about the app is the “explore” feature. You can explore by “popular” “nearby” or “people”. I’m especially excited to use the “nearby” category as more and more people start using the app. The “popular” section is great too because you can learn about new things that come highly recommended. Under “people” you can find new people to follow.
Wikets instantly became one of my favorite apps. I’m constantly checking it to find new cool things or adding one of my favorite products or places. It’ll be even more fun once I get some friends to join! So what are you waiting for? First, get Wikets here. Don’t forget to use code mommieswithcents for an extra 200 points. Then, after you’ve installed the app, get started recommending products and places, adding to your wishlist, re-recing, etc. It’s addicting! I’ve already discovered a few things to put on my wish list. Now when someone asks me what I want for Christmas or my birthday, I’m ready!
