Impress your family at Thanksgiving with a pie adorned with mini leaves. The Fall Forest pie cutters are spring loaded for ease of use. Just press firmly to cut the edges then depress the spring to release the the embossed leaf shapes. The set of four includes:
- oak leaf
- maple leaf
- double laurel leaf
- double poplar leaf
Layer the shapes to create a crust or use the cutters to make a cutout pattern in a pie’s top crust. Either way, you’ll get a beautiful effect without a whole lot of effort.
I just had to test these out when I got them but I didn’t have enough time to bake a pie. I also wanted to do something fun with my son so we used a pre-made pie crust and I had Jackson help me punch out the leaf shapes. I was impressed with how well they worked. The spring loaded stamp actually embosses the dough for extra detailing. After we got them all cut out, I popped them in the oven- woah! They cook really fast! I wanted to test out a way to make the leaves tinted colors. I melted some butter and added a few drops of food coloring and mixed it up. We painted it on with a basting brush and then sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar. They came out alright but not quite what I was going for. My mom suggested using egg whites instead of butter and I think that will actually work better and look a lot prettier. With or without the color, these little cutters will turn your pie into a masterpiece!
My mother-in-law is into biscuits big time, so I have big shoes to fill when making biscuits for my hubby. I have to admit that I have just used a rounded cup that I have flowered to cut the dough in circles for the biscuit shape. Williams-Sonoma offers biscuit cutters to create that perfect round shape this holiday season! I have to admit that I think they are absolutely wonderful because I can use them for cookies! mmmm I am able to make different sizes and they are so easy to use! The best part? They are dishwasher safe!!! Yay! So, make your biscuits from scratch this Thanksgiving! They will taste SO yummy and you will be happy to have these for ease of use. The handle helps cut the dough into perfect shapes. The set comes with 5 stainless-steel biscuit cutters and are priced at only $16!
Don’t stop with these items though, Williams-Sonoma offers so much more! Check out these Swissmar Peelers. Peel those potatoes or top your key lime pie this Thanksgiving with these wonderful peelers! I have personally tested them out on peeling veggies to make my son’s baby food and they are so nice! The set comes with a straight, serrated and julienne peeler.
- Straight-edge peeler removes skins from root vegetable and firm fruits.
- Serrated peeler is ideal for delicate produce like tomatoes, kiwis and mangoes.
- Julienne peeler creates fine strips of anything from carrots to firm cheese.
- Peelers have side cutters for removing potato eyes or blemishes.
The Swissmar Peelers are also dishwasher safe (yay for hygiene!) and retail for $15. They are also a Williams-Sonoma exclusive! Don’t stop with these items we’ve discussed though. Make sure to check out all of the wonderful items Williams-Sonoma offers to help you prepare this holiday season!
