Need some edible decorations? How about Chocolate Peas & Carrots? Or Chocolate Truffle Filled Eggs? The German chocolate confections look just like robin’s eggs but taste delicious because they are filled with a blend of Champagne, amaretto and kirsch then coated with white chocolate and blue speckled candy shell. They would look adorable in mini nests as place settings. The peas and carrots are made with premium Guittard milk chocolate and individually wrapped in colorful foil and are just plain cute.
My personal favorite, though I haven’t had a chance to actually use it yet, is the Toaster Pastry Press. Don’t those pastry’s look delicious? I can’t wait to make a couple batches to store in the freezer for quick breakfasts or even for desserts. The pastry recipe is included with the easy to use press:
- First, use the rim of the mold to cut pastry dough into fluted rectangles.
- Spread your preferred filling on half of the rectangles, then brush the fluted edges with egg wash.
- Place a second pastry rectangle on top and use the press to seal the tarts.
- For the perfect filling, try fresh fruit reserves, lemon curd, peanut butter or milk chocolate chips.
- Decorate your pocket tarts with colorful icings and sprinkles.
