I am so honored to be able to share with you another fantabulous review and giveaway from Gardener’s Supply Company!
Today I am going to share with you a few ways that Gardener’s Supply helps gardeners improve their gardens and new gardeners get started.
Innovative Gardening Solutions
Gardener’s Supply provides garden-tested solutions for most every gardening challenge. They work with customers, market gardeners, universities, manufacturers and suppliers throughout the world to design and introduce innovative gardening prodcuts, such as self-watering planters, flower and vegetable supports, composters, rainbarrels, grow lights, professional growing mediums, organic fertilizers and much more.
They have their own research and development team and maintain a half-acre test garden. They also have a manufacturing facility in Vermont, where they produce garden carts, raised beds, light gardens and many of the other products they offer.
A Partner in Your Gardening Success
Gardener’s Supply is in business to help us experience the joys of fresh, healthy food, colorful, fragrant flowers and a yard and garden growing in harmony with nature. If we need help identifying a pest or choosing the right support for our perennials, they are always happy to help. They make sure that we get the right product and all the information we need in order to use it more effectively.
The How-To pages on Gardener’s Supply’s web site is packed with tips and techniques they’ve gleaned from years of experience serving gardeners from Maine to Arizona. They also encourage us to check out their blog, where they post news, ideas and musings about gardening. Gardener’s Supply also has a way to subscribe to their monthly e-newsletter, Gardeners NEWS. It contains how-to information and inspiration for both flower and vegetable gardeners. Have a specific gardening question? Email their team of gardening experts for a fast, personalized reply.
Improving the World Through Gardening
Gardener’s Supply actively promotes gardening as an important way for people to make the world a better place. They donate 8% of their pre-tax profits to support programs and organizations that are using gardening to improve the quality of people’s lives and the health of our environment.
A cornerstone of their donations program is the Garden Crusader Awards, which recognizes people across the country who are using gardening to improve the quality of life in their communities. Each year Gardener’s Supply selects 21 winners and awards more than $15,000 in cash and gardening products.
Gardener’s Supply also provides gifts to a number of non-profit organizations working on gardening, sustainable agriculture, the environment and hunger-related causes. Recipients include the American Community Gardening Association, the American Horticulture Therapy Association, and Plant a Row for the Hungry.
In Vermont, their company’s local donations program helps support more than 50 community organizations. They also founded, and continue to be a lead sponsor for the Intervale Center, which oversees 350 acres of farmland and a wide range of urban farming initiatives in Burlington, Vermont.
Gardener’s Supply is mindful about their company’s environmental responsibility, and is pursuing a number of environmental initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint. To learn more, read Our Commitment to the Environment.
Gardener to Gardener
Feedback is important to Gardener’s Supply. They are eager to know about the challenges we face in our own garden; the products that we like, and those that we don’t. Is there a tool you’re looking for that you can’t find? A gardening prolem that needs solving? Gardener’s Supply encourage you to email them at: [email protected].
Be prepared to have your gardening socks blown off; for Gardener’s Supply is offering one of our lucky readers an A-Frame Support! The A-Frame Support is a gardener’s lifesaver! You’re able to maximize your harvest of peas, cucumbers, summer squash and melons by growing them up this space-saving trellis. The poly-coated steel poles clip together without tools to create a frame that’s approximately 5′ high x 5′ long. You get 42 square feet of growing space in a 15 square foot footprint. I was able to put this bad boy up in minutes and found it super easy to attach the netting to the A-Frame Support and is priced at $29.95. I have my A-Frame Support set up so my watermelon, zucchini, squash, and cantaloupe plants will be able to use this system to grow and thrive!
You must buy the netting in order to use your A-Frame Support, and Gardener’s Supply will be able to take care of all your netting needs. The A-Frame Support works well with Gardener’s Supply’s Biodegradable Netting, or Gardener’s Supply’s Nearly Invisible Netting.
Gardener’s Supply and I love this trellis netting because it’s unusually strong! It’s UV-stabilized for many years of use, and it has 6″ square openings to make harvesting easy. It is made of translucent polypropylene that is practically invisible when installed.
Now through Memorial Day you can take advantage of their Raised Gardening Bed Sale. Take 15% off either their 3′ x 3′ Grow Bed or 3′ x 6′ Grow Bed.
Kitchen Garden Planner (KGP) is one of the first reasons why I fell in love with Gardener’s Supply Company and feel I would be doing you and Gardener’s Supply Company an injustice if I didn’t highlight it. Growing up I was lucky enough to have a dad that LOVED gardening and was raised eating fresh yummy garden fruits and veggies. After my hubby and I settled into our home I wanted to start my own garden. It helped me feel connected to my family and my childhood, along with making new fun gardening memories of my own. Being a newbie, I began to search around online and happily stumbled onto Gardener’s Supply Company’s Kitchen Garden Planner. With this planner you can pick from 50 different crops and design the layout of your garden. You can customize the names of your crops with the “edit my crop names” feature. The “save” and “load” features allow you to design multiple gardens and work on them later; and you’re also able to print out or email your planting map. There’s even an option to choose from eight pre-planned gardens, all designed for a 3′ x 6′ raised garden bed. Kitchen Garden Planner even has a section to learn about planting and care, a very large and informative vegetable encyclopedia; and a place to learn about essential products needed for your garden.
You can also enter to win a free Kitchen Garden, a retail value of over $550! The prize includes: One 3′ x 6′ Grow Bed; One set of 3 Tomato Ladders; One set of 3 Vegetable Ladders; One Cucumber Trellis; One Bean Tower; One Pair of Nitrile Gloves; One Lifetime Garden Hose (50 Feet); Seven 20 quart bags of compost; One 5 pounds all purpose fertilizer; One Marking Pen; One 24 wooden plant markers; $200 for seeds and transplants; Plus and expert consultation! The prizes will be awarded on or about May 15th. Let us know if you win this incredible prize!
Plus Gardener’s Supply Company is offering another contest right now for the chance to win two Rain Barrels, a $368 value! A winner will be chosen July 10th. Living in town with our home on a small lot, this A frame would be terrific to grow our own vegetables.

Hi Lucy!
I love that you have dedicated a space to garden, even though you live on a small lot in town!
I agree, being able to grow thing vertical in your limited space is a fantastic way to garden and get the most bang for your buck – spacewise.
What veggies are you growing?
