When you are cooking, cover your pots and pans to keep heat from escaping. The heat from the burner that enters the bottom of the pan will exit through the top if the pot is not covered. It takes about half the time and energy to boil water in a covered pot.
I am all about getting dinner cooked faster and if it saves energy- all the better!
Whenever my husband feels like teasing me, this is usually what it is about. When you think about it, it’s common sense but one day when he told me to put a lid on my pot and that it would boil faster I said “whatever”. To this day he still makes fun of me for not knowing this fact!
