Before I get to my full review I want to quickly let you know about the Gramma in a Box Black Friday Sale (valide 11/23 ONLY!) black50 (all lower case) is $50 off the full year price of $240, which makes 1 year only $190 (about $15 per box).
My daughters had so much fun with the November Gramma in a Box. What is Gramma in a Box you ask? Let me fill you in! Gramma in a Box is a subscription service for kids. Each month members receive a specially prepared box including cookies to decorate complete with frosting and sprinkles, plus two easy candy crafts. You’ll get all the supplies you need to make up to 20 treats to share for only $20 per month. You can also purchase a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription for slightly reduced prices.
Each month you’ll get a nicely packaged kit with easy to follow directions including tips from Gramma. If you had to go out and gather the supplies for projects like this it would take a lot of time and probably cost a lot more too. I love how each box has a theme. This month’s was Fall themed. The only extra supplies you might need are things you most likely already have such as a spoon, knife, toothpicks, microwave safe bowl and paper plates. Here’s what we made with this month’s box:
Project #1 was Acron Kisses. It helps to do the projects in order because some projects use supplies leftover from the previous project. For this project, you use the melting chocolate to assemble these adorable little acorns. Sandwiched in between a Hershey Kiss and a chocolate chip is a little cookie. A simple yet cute project!
Project #2 uses the melting chocolate from project #1. You may have to reheat it a little to make it a good spreadable consistency. This was my oldest daughter’s favorite project. She saw a preview of it on Gramma’s Instagram account before our box arrived so she was especially looking forward to receiving it! Again, the melting chocolate is used as “glue” for lack of a better word, to attach candy corn feathers, and candy eyes and beak to make these silly turkey pretzels. So creative!
Last but not least was the always popular cookie decorating. This project never gets old! This month they got leaf, acorn and turkey cookies with brown, yellow and orange frosting and brown sprinkles. The frosting comes in adorable little frosting bags. You just snip off the end when you’re ready to use them. It’s the perfect amount for the cookies included. There’s plenty, with some left over most of the time but not a huge amount for the kids to go crazy with.
My girls are always so proud of their kitchen crafting and eager to share what they made. That makes it win-win for the whole family! Even though my son rarely shows interest in joining in, he’s always happy to do some sampling so he looks forward to the delivery of Gramma in a Box each month almost as much as my girls do! They are always excited to see what the new theme will be, what shape the cookies are and what color the frosting is. The projects are fun and easy and the clean up is very minimal. For the most part, my kids can do these projects completely on their own if I don’t have time to help but it’s also fun for mother/daughter time when I do!
