Raise your hand if you’ve had more Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes than you can count already this fall season? It’s a real budget killer but they’re just so irresistible! I found a great recipe online at A Farm Girl’s Dabbles so that I could make my own at home and save some money. Now instead of a once or twice a week treat, I can have a daily Pumpkin Spice Latte! I altered the original recipe some, adjusting the spices and switching whole milk for 2% since it’s what I normally have on hand.
Ingredients:
- 1 15-oz. can pumpkin puree
- 2 c. 2% milk
- 1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 2 T. pure vanilla extract
- 1 T. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground dried ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
Directions:
Blend all ingredients in a blender until combined and smooth (30 seconds-1 minute)
Assembly:
Pour about a 1/2 cup of the Pumpkin Spice mixture into a coffee mug. Add hot coffee and stir. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon. Add chocolate shavings for an extra special touch. If you like your coffee extra hot you may want to microwave your pumpkin spice mixture for about 30 seconds before adding the coffee.
Storage:
This recipe makes enough for 7-10 lattes. Store the mixture in a jar with a lid and refrigerate. Shake before using. You can store the mixture for around a week in the refrigerator.
