The Creative Child Magazine named PhotoStory Product of the Year 2010.
Mindy and I both had difficulties uploading our photos. After some fiddling and trying different things I found that I could only upload my photos in small batches rather than all at once. This drew out the process but I was able to gather all of the pictures I would need for my book. I choose to create a story about our recent trip to the pumpkin patch. I was able to customize each page with photos and text and add “stickers” if I wanted. I only used these on one page- a picture of my son on a tractor. There were some cute tractor stickers so I added those in. The cool thing with the stickers is that they start out like a coloring book image and you can select the colors you want to fill them in. I liked mine just the way they were and kept them black and white. You can also make them any size you wish. There are lots of stock images you can use for your story book if you don’t have a photo to go along with your story.
It took me a really long time to make my book. I was slow to catch on to how everything worked and had to go back several times and make changes. The end result was really cool though and if I wanted to make another book, it would be much easier the second time around. The upload tool could use some work though.
PhotoStory is different from other photo books because it’s specifically for telling a story. Rather than just displaying photos in an album, the pages are set up as they would be in a real storybook . There’s a title page, an author page etc. The storybook comes printed in a nice hard cover book too- just like a real storybook. My kids LOVED reading this book about their trip to the pumpkin patch with them as the main characters and it has quickly become a favorite.
