My youngest daughter recently turned 9. She asked if she could finally get rid of her booster seat. She’s pretty small for her age but I was pretty sure we were getting close to retiring her booster seat until I looked up our state’s car seat laws. The law states that until the child is eight years old, unless the child is four feet nine inches or taller they are required to be in a booster seat. A child who is eight years of age or older or four feet nine inches or taller shall be properly restrained with the motor vehicle’s safety belt properly adjusted and fastened around the child’s body or an appropriately fitting child restraint system.
Parker now meets the age requirement but she’s nowhere close to 4’9″. She may not be much taller than that as an adult so we’ve got a long way to go living the booster life! Our other two kids have always been tall for their age. They’ve been out of car seats for quite awhile and we were looking forward to being car seat free. A revolutionary new booster seat is making life easier. Say hello to hifold, a compact, super adjustable folding, high-backed booster seat that is portable enough to fit in a backpack, duffle bag or even a suitcase!
There are so many cool things about this carseat that are unlike any other carseat on the market. First of all, the unique MultiFit technology gives it an unheard of 243 individual settings for a safe and comfortable ride. There are 4 areas that are adjustable: the seat, body, head width and height. This seat can be used for kids as small as 33 pounds and 3 feet all the way up to 100 pounds and 4’9″. It’s easy to adjust and designed to grow with the child. It can also be used by multiple children of different ages and sizes in a family — it’s interchangeable and can quickly be adjusted for whomever will be using it.
Another really cool thing is that this seat is super portable. It folds down into a compact size that makes it easy to travel with. This isn’t something that we have to think about very often but we do travel once or twice a year. It will fit in the overhead luggage compartment in an airplane cabin so you can use it with your rental car when you reach your destination. I image for those living in a city where cabs, Uber and Lyft are used daily, this seat would be a lifesaver! It’s lightweight and easy to carry.
Parker isn’t thrilled that she still has to use a booster but one thing she does love about this seat is that seat is “thin” so her feet can almost touch the floor in front of her rather than dangle like they did with her bigger (bulkier) booster seat. It makes her feel bigger.
Whether you live in the city and use various modes of transportation, you travel a lot, need a versatile car seat for multiple children or carpools or just want to be prepared for the unexpected, anyone with a child in a booster seat can benefit from the versatility and portability of hifold! It’s reasonably priced at just $159. You can find out more at www.hifold.com.
