My oldest daughter is really interested in baking. To introduce her to some of the concepts of baking I’ve started letting her make things with baking mixes. We recently received some complimentary samples from Miss Jones Baking Co. and McKinley whipped them up for the family to share.
Miss Jones Baking Co. is a small team of 7 bakers based in San Francisco. They offer organic cake, brownie and cookie mixes and the first ever ready-to-use organic frosting. All of their products contain simple, non-GMO ingredients. They do not contain hydrogenated oils or trans fat, artificial flavors or colors and are vegan-friendly.
First, McKinley made the Sugar Cookies. They are simple to make using this mix and adding eggs and butter (Vegan instructions are also available).
The cookies came out perfectly and tasted AMAZING. McKinley had a lot of fun making them and was proud of her work especially when the compliments of how good the tasted came rolling in. The mix made about 18 cookies and needless to say, they didn’t last long in our house!
Next up, McKinley made the Perfectly Fudgy Brownies using the mix, eggs, oil and water. She begged to stay up late to finish them. We had to wait awhile for them to cool since we decided to frost them with the Limited Edition Peppermint Frosting. They were well worth the wait though! The frosting comes with crushed peppermint candy topping making this dessert even more fun and delicious. The brownies were scrumptious and I am such a sucker for the chocolate/peppermint combo there was no way I could resist these! I could taste the hint of sea salt in these and I think it really brought out the flavors.
