The hubby and I both have a sweet tooth. Needless to say, our three kids do as well. We are a family that likes to treat ourselves! Cookies and brownies are always a great option, especially when fresh baked ones can be sent directly to your door — now THAT’S a real treat! The LaRisa Baking Co. offers delivery of their hand crafted desserts baked from scratch right to your doorstep. With cookies like Cinnamon Crackle, Frosted Ginger Shortbread, Oatmeal White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies and Gingersnaps you can get a little help with your holiday baking. Of course they have all the traditional cookie favorites as well.
The LaRisa Baking Company sets themselves apart by offering more desserts for less! In their research, they found that most companies charge $1.70-$2 oz for 1 pound of cookies including shipping. LaRisa’s cookies are around $45 per dozen including shipping however each cookie weighs at least 2.5 oz and a total of 2 pounds or more per dozen. This breaks down to $1.41 oz for 1 dozen cookies including shipping but can be as little as $1.17 per oz if you order 2 dozen!
Additionally, LaRisa Baking Co. is one of the only companies to shrink wrap their products for shipping. This lengthens their shelf life. While most companies will encourage you to consume their product within 3 days, LaRisa baked goods will last around 2 weeks as long as they are still in their shrink wrap.
It’s hard to capture just how big these cookies are but they are 2-3 times the size of a typical cookie. We tried the Brownies, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Gingersnaps and Cinnamon Crinkle Cookies and they were all fantastic! The brownies are very large and thick. We actually cut these into thirds to share because they are also very rich. The cookies are of the crunchy variety and while the Hubs prefers a softer, chewier cookie, the flavors of these cookies were amazing and certainly nothing to complain about!
Laura Boyd is the woman behind LaRisa Baking company. She has close to 40 years experience in the industry. When she left the last restaurant she worked at in Santa Fe, her co-workers gave her a picture of Adelita, one of the first woman soldiers of the Mexican revolution and they all signed it. The name Adelita is a term for all women soldiers and a symbol for any woman who fights for her rights. This token of good luck in leading her own revolution and starting her own business became the LaRisa Baking Co.’s logo.
