We received an advanced copy of McFarland USA a couple of weeks ago. It arrived in the midst of a busy an chaotic week, preparing for a camping trip. My 8 year old was intrigued by the move based solely on the box and kept begging me to watch it. We actually bring a laptop and watch movies sometimes at night while we are camping to settle in for the night so he wanted to bring it. We didn’t end up watching it until we were home but it was perfect for a family movie day while we rested and recovered from our busy week!
I was actually surprised that my girls (ages 6 and 4) were into the movie. In fact, the whole family enjoyed it! It was a great story that shows you can overcome difficulties when you put your whole heart and determination into it! It was also a good lesson in culture and work ethics! I whole heartedly recommend McFarland USA for your next family movie viewing!
