Skincare has been important to me since my pre-teens when I developed bad acne. I saw a dermatologist and tried oral and topical meds, some of which were painful and caused severe peeling. As a young adult without good insurance, I gave up the prescriptions and tried a variety of skincare lines. Once I discovered Paula’s Choice I never looked back. My skin isn’t perfect but the improvements achieved with Paula’s Choice products are definitely noticeable. I particularly like most of the cleansers and BHA products. The following are some new products I’ve been testing out:
Hydralight One Step Cleanser— This easy to use gel cleanser leaves your face feeling fresh and clean with no residue. It’s gentle yet effective enough to remove oil and makeup without drying out your skin. There are several PC cleansers that I like but this one tops the list. It’s 100% fragrance and colorant-free. This product is ideal for those with sensitive skin and those with combination skin.
Resist BHA 9 — This product is like a miracle in a bottle. If you have a stubborn imperfection, BHA 9 will likely improve, if not cure it. Amazingly this product does not dry out the skin at all. In fact, the controlled, sustained release of salicylic acid actually seems moisturizing to me. The tiny pump dispenses just a couple of drops with an oil-like texture to be applied to your skin where needed.BHA 9 can do all of the following:
- Unclog pores with the first use
- Diminish white bumps
- Minimize enlarged pores
- Refine and smooth skin’s texture
- Minimize sebaceous hyperplasia
- Smooth and soften dry, rough patches
- Help balance oily skin
- Fade red marks from breakouts
- Reduce breakouts
The first time I tried this I had amazing results. I had a spot on my face that had been there for months. I was beginning it was something more serious but BHA 9 cleared it right up. For me, this is a must-have product.
Resist C15 Super Booster — This concentrated liquid treatment can be used alone or to supercharge other Paula’s Choice serums. I’ve been using this product for at least a few weeks, most days I use it in the morning and at night. I’ve used it both on it’s own and blended into other products and I’ve noticed that my skin does like brighter and more “alive”
Resist Weekly Retexturing Foaming Treatment — This product is another keeper! I love the easy application with a pump of foam. Special technology encapsulates salicylic acid for time released delivery which is imperative to avoid flaking and irritation of the skin. The foam also contains soothing ingredients that reduce redness, calm inflammation, unclog pores and reduce symptoms of rosacea. Plant-based antioxidants work with the exfoliating, pore-penetrating action of salicylic acid to stimulate collagen production for firmer, smoother, more radiant skin. Whether you’re looking for a product to reduce the signs of aging, are concerned with breakouts or minimizing the appearance of pores, this is the product for you. It’s a weekly treatment but can be used more frequently. I used it every few days and love it!
