When I first saw a Pillowie I thought they were adorable but wondered if my kids might be a little too old for one. My youngest is 8 years old and I was fairly sure she’d be into it so I got her “Rusty” the orange “monster”. You might be wondering what a Pillowie even is so let me introduce you. This toy/pillow hybrid was developed to encourage imagination and adventures along with a comforting experience for kids. It’s part stuffed animal, part storage and part pillow. I personally love multifunctional products and this one is no exception. In fact, we love this product more than I even expected!
As you can see from the photo above, the Pillowie’s mouth opens up. Inside is a pillow and a small blanket. The blanket is lightweight and thin but exceptionally soft. The blankets have two different bright colors, one on each side, along with a cute embroidered pattern in one corner. The binding on each blanket is grey with white polka dots. There’s a snap that allows the child to wear the blanket as a cape. The pillowcase can also be worn as a hat.
Seriously, how cute is this? My daughter immediately fell in love with her Pillowie. It’s perfect for travel. We are in the car a LOT for travel sports and this is the perfect size. It doesn’t take up a lot of room but offers not only a soft place to rest her head but fun toy to play with and a cuddly blanket to snuggle with as well.
She wore her Pillow for lunch.
She continued to wear her Pillowie while playing Lego with her brother until he got a little jealous and stole the hat. He then wore it for the next hour while playing video games. He’s 12!
Pillowie has gone everywhere with Parker (my daughter) since she got it. She took it on a recent baseball tournament trip. She used the blanket as a nice little spot to sit in the grass and played with her brother’s teammate’s little siblings with the hat and cape. It’s a really fun toy and really well made. Parker can stick a pair of pajamas in the pocket or stash a few small toys for day trips. It’s the perfect take along because it’s so functional!
