My oldest is only 6 but he’s been in sports for several years. This year we’ve noticed he’s stepped up his game. He plays HARD. He just finished up flag football and has started basketball season with even more running. We always make sure to keep his water bottle filled but have discovered a new way to hydrate that he loves. PowerIce is described as the next generation in sport hydration. Available in 2 flavors (Lime Kicker and Orange Blast) these frozen bars contain electrolytes to help hydrate after exercising. They do not contain high fructose corn syrup and are gluten free. They are only 30 calories each too!
Since we are on winter break my son hasn’t had a basketball game or practice and all three of my kids have been sick. My girls had high fevers for several days and weren’t interested in eating at all. Then I remembered that I had PowerIce in the freezer. Life saver! The kids loved them and I felt a huge relief that they were getting some good hydration by consuming them. They don’t take up a lot of space in the freezer and can actually be kept in the pantry until you are ready to freeze them. It’s a good idea to keep some on hand for moments like these! They do a great job of replenishing electrolytes which is really important especially with fevers, vomiting or diarrhea. Of course they are also great after a good workout too! Very refreshing!
