HABA has been a family favorite brand of toys for years. They’re great quality, well-priced and encourage imagination and curiosity. Plus, they are over the top cute! HABA has recently added some new products for spring including a line of roll play products that are wonderful.
We received the Princess Rosalina Play Tent ($90) to check out. My kids are really into building tents and fort but they’ve yet to master it so it usually just ends up being a giant pile of blankets and pillows. This play tent was just what they needed. Using the plastic piping and connectors, I followed the directions to piece together the frame. It was pretty simple and came together pretty quickly. Then up went the roof, walls, windows, door and floor — all in one swift swoop! This one piece tent goes over the frame and zips around the bottom. This set comes with two pink pouches for storage so you can take the tent apart and store it compactly. I thought this was a really great feature of the toy. Since it does take up a lot of space when it’s put together, it’s nice to have the option to put it away if we need the room for something else.
The design is absolutely adorable with pretty colors and cute characters. The door can be rolled up and fastened for easy in-and-out plus there are mesh windows for ventilation. Right away, my kids imaginations went to work. They used a red blanket outside the door for “the red carpet”, added a blue blanket for the pool and a cardboard box for the deck, expanding their play space to fill the entire living room.
It didn’t take them long before they were acting out scenes from Frozen which was totally adorable with one of them in the tent and the other outside the door: “Do you want to build a snowman?” “Go away, Anna!” This play tent has provided hours of fun and we’ve yet to take it down and put it away because they play with it so much!
