My family lives in Washington state. We are susceptible to two natural disasters that often occur without warning: earthquakes and volcanic explosions. This means that we must always be prepared for an emergency. In fact, all families, no matter where they live should have an emergency kit — just in case. In areas where natural disasters come with a small amount of time to prepare, stores shelves are quickly emptied and you may not be able to find the things you need. It’s best to plan ahead. The Red Cross recommends that you have basic supplies for each member of your family to be self-sufficient for 3 days. You can put together your own emergency kit but it can be really overwhelming trying to gather all the supplies you need. It can be time consuming and costly too! Luckily you can get a really nice Rescue Guard Kit on Amazon shipped right to your door for a reasonable price. I highly recommend it!
Personally, I don’t want to dwell on the “what if’s” but I do want some peace of mind and these kits give me just that. I can rest easy knowing that my family is prepared for the worst. I was really amazed at how much these packs hold. I love that everything is contained in a zippered backpack just in case you need to evacuate and take it along with you. The 72 hour kit features four key categories — First Aid, Survival Shelter, Food & Water plus Tools. Each kit can supply a family of four for 72 hours.
The food and water is compact so that it fits inside the backpack. The water comes in small packets and the food is the highest-quality freeze-dried 2400-calorie bars of sustenance. Other kits I’ve seen don’t even offer a food and water option. I love that this kit literally comes with everything needed for survival! I’d say food and water are pretty important!
Aside from food and water, this kit contains shelter, survival sleeping bags, rain ponchos, flashlights, duct tape, tools, first aid kits, face masks, tissues, rubber gloves, flint, a saw and more! It even includes a deck of playing cards to help pass the time until rescue arrives! They really thought of everything!
Rescue Guard Emergency Kits come in 3 options with priced at $49.95, $99.95 and $179.95. This is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Purchasing an all-in-one kit now is the smartest move any head of the household can make. Find each of the three red zippered backpacks at Amazon.
No matter where you live, emergencies can happen. Don’t be caught unprepared! For more information on preparing for an emergency, go to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s
