We had a giveaway for a book, Cole Family Christmas HERE. Well, Hilda is the pet goat of Ruble Cole, the protagonist of Cole Family Christmas. While Hilda plays an important part in the story, he is only a minor character in the book. Outside the book, however, his role has mushroomed. He has become an animated character that can interact in real-time with live audiences through cutting-edge technology. He traveled to Los Angeles for Book Expo America and to Atlanta for a gift show, where he talked to audiences about Cole Family Christmas, and about the family’s tradition of reading aloud. Since then, he’s also become part of a national campaign to encourage families to read aloud. You can see Hilda, “the spokesgoat for read aloud,” at http://www.readaloud.org/. In addition, Hilda’s also the star of e-greeting cards that users can send to friends by visiting http://www.colefamily-christmas.com/.

I forgot to leave Hilda’s tip: Read aloud every day even if it is only for a few minutes. Bedtime is a good time to read.
That site is not coming up for me, but here’s my tip: Read in silly voices for each character, as it makes the story more fun and exciting.
I agree with Hilda that its important to read to your children every day. Mine like it any time of the day but especially at bedtime.

My favorite tip: read every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Thanks for the chance to win!
I agree with Hilda that bedtime is a good time for preschoolers – but it’s also a good time for older kids! As the media specialist of a 3rd-5th grade school, I know that some parents get very little time with their children at the end of the day. Winding down with a good book is a great idea. MY tip…let them see YOU read…make reading exciting. We have a “book browsing trip” each month where we have coffee/milk, cake, and read and play at the bookstore. Thanks for introducing me to Hilda!
I agree with the tip that it’s a good idea to read at bedtime. It is a nice time to relax and snuggle and a good way to wind down to sleepiness.
Hilda and I have the same ideas: Best tip that I liked is “Read every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes”. [email protected]
