Each Hoop Painting Fun Bag comes with 3 100% Silk 9.5” hoops, 2 paintbrushes, 3 Dye-Na-Flow colors, Permanent Metallic Resist, Silk Salt and tips and techniques information. Dye-Na-Flow colors are non-toxic and can be cleaned up with water. The colors included are primary (red, yellow & blue) so you can blend them to create other colors which allows for even more creativity.

There are enough materials in each kit to make three sun catchers or pieces of wall art and to try various techniques. The most traditional technique for silk painting is the resist method. Using the bottle of squeezable resist, you can draw lines which will create a boundary between colors and give a stained glass type effect.

Another method is the salt technique, which uses the Silk Salt included in the Hoop Painting Fun Bag to create starbursts of color on the silk. By applying salt granules immediately after the color has been applied, a beautiful starburst can be achieved. As the silk dries, the salt crystals soak up the dye creating the starburst. For varying sizes, small to large granules of salt can be used.

A third technique is the water color method in which colors are painted on and bleed together. To enhance this effect, wet the silk beforehand.
