One of my favorite parts of Back to School besides looking forward to getting my sanity back is shopping for school clothes. This year I discovered a new store with fresh styles that are right up my youngest daughter’s alley. The prices are affordable, the quality of the clothing is great and the styles are hip and cool. While much of what Rockets of Awesome offers is bold and colorful, my monochromatic, black/grey loving daughter found some cool pieces that she loves and can’t wait to wear to school!
Despite it’s black and white color, this top is anything but bland. The word “AWESOME” is printed in bold, white letters across the entire span of the top including the sleeves giving it a lot of visual flair. It really is awesome! Parker paired it with the Glitter Stripe Jogger pants which feature a silver glitter stripe down the outside of the pant legs and cool zippered front pockets. They’re super cozy while still maintaining a stylish vibe.
For cooler days she can pair the same pants with the long sleeve Varsity Sweatshirt. This shirt is unbelievably soft and comes in a variety of colors. It’s a drapey, jersey crew with sleeve stripes and it’s tunic length making it perfect for pairing with leggings as it covers the bum! It would also be adorable french tucked into some distressed skinny jeans! All of these items are easily mixed and matched with other basics to make comfortable yet stylish fashion statements.
My oldest daughter has a completely different style than my little one. She’s a bit more girly and feminine but still sporty. She adores these crochet trimmed shorts that I got her. All on her own she paired them with a mustard yellow and white striped top and it works SO well together! These shorts are garment dyed which means they get their color after they are sewn which results in a perfectly imperfect hue that softly fades and gets better over time. These instantly became her favorite pair of shorts.
McKinley’s second favorite pair of shorts are these Towel Terry Track Shorts which are reminiscent of my own childhood days. They are made from supersoft, quick drying terry cloth and feature convenient side pockets and an adorable little embroidered pineapple which is my daughter’s favorite part. These also come in a pretty blue color.
