Our family travels a lot for sports but we are even busier in the summer when sports and family vacations cover our calendar. Our kids are very active and do well in school so we’ve always been pretty generous with screen time. We do have limits, monitor their activity and try to steer them towards educational games etc. Samsung Kids has made it easy on us, especially for our youngest.
Samsung Kids is a subscription service that offers children a library of top quality, educational content. Kids can pick and choose what looks interesting to them and you can rest assured they are all kid friendly options that promote math, STEM, language and creativity. There is also a large selection of books available to help kids develop a love of reading with their favorite characters.
Samsung Kids has kept Parker (age 6) engaged and learning on long road trips and plane rides. Many of the games can be played without wi-fi making it the perfect option to keep kids busy virtually anywhere!
After long days at baseball tournaments, playing a few games helps her unwind at the hotel and settle in for the night. This is a game she likes featuring My Little Pony. Even my older kids have found some games they love on Samsung Kids. The subscription offers the best educational games from Sesame Street, PBS Kids, DreamWorks Animation and more. New content is added monthly to keep it fresh and keep the kiddos learning as they grow. Another plus about this service is that there are no in-app purchases or ads!
The Samsung Kids service was NAPPA award winner and recent Tillywig Brain Award winner. It comes pre-loaded on select Galaxy tablets, including the Galaxy Kids Tab E Lite that comes with a neon-protective bumper designed especially for kids. This is the one we have and we love it! Each child can have their own profile and even better, the kids can be logged out and it can be used as a normal tablet. I keep Netflix on this part of the tablet and can download movies and shows for the kids (or the parents!) to watch but they aren’t able to access it without my help.
If you are worried about too much screen time, the parent tools can help you monitor and limit what your kids have access to. You can limit screen time and choose learning categories for your kid’s individual needs, steering them towards a subject they need more practice in. Subscriptions start at $7.99/month or $59.99/year. You can even start out with a 30 day free trial to see if it’s right for your family.
Our family loves Samsung Kids. In fact, with three kids liking it so much we had to add a micro sd card so we could have access to more content without having to delete apps. I do recommend increasing your storage space with one of these. They are inexpensive and give you plenty of room to grow your library.
