Learning to ride a bike is an essential childhood milestone. Some kids pick it up quickly while others don’t learn until they are older. My oldest son has a cautious personality and didn’t pick up the skill until he was 7 or 8. My middle child is fearless and learned much earlier. My youngest child pretty much taught herself with a desire to keep up with her siblings. Kids these days can pick up this skill at a really early age with a balance bike. These little bikes don’t have pedals so the child is in control of their bike and has a feeling of security at all times. SCRAAAM is created a superior model with all the best features to make the learning experience even more pleasurable.
The SCRAAAM Coaster GT is available in pink or blue and comes with 2 graphics kits to allow your child to customize their ride.. Some assembly is required however the bike comes with the tools needed to assemble the bike and it only takes a matter of minutes to put it together. Nothing complicated at all! The bike comes with 2 seats. The smaller one is a hard plastic while the larger one is padded and features a hand grip which makes it easier for parents to hold on to as kids are learning to balance.
The handlebar grips are designed to fit a child’s hands unlike many other balance bikes on the market which use adult sized grips. As a parent, one of my favorite features of the bike are the EVA Polymer tires. These ultra light 10″ tires are foam rubber which means they never need air — no flats and no maintenance!
Another great feature is the anodized aluminum quick release fasteners. These allow you to adjust the height of the handlebars and the seat without tools. We all know how quickly children grow and not having to hunt down the proper tools for adjustment is such a time saver!
The body of the bike is made from strong but lightweight aluminum for safety and comfort. The entire bike weights less than 5 points — that’s pretty amazing! Kids can pick up and carry the bike on their own! The bike also comes with a bike stand at no additional charge.
The SCRAAAM Coaster GT makes it easy for kids as young as 18 months old to join in the family fun of bike riding. Learning to ride a bike on a balance bike gives kids more independence and fosters confidence in themselves. The little guy assisting me with this review has 2 older siblings and is Mr. Independent. Check him out rocking the SCRAAAM bike at the skate park and balancing like a pro!
This little cutie is loving his new SCRAAAM bike and is able to enjoy his independence and fit right in with the older kids!
