Sid the Science Kid Review & Giveaway

Sid the Science Kid, an award winning educational television series is about to start it’s second season with 12 new episodes on October 4th.  We received an advanced screening copy of a few of the new episodes.  Sid the Science Kid was new to us so it was fun to introduce to our kids.  I loved that it wasn’t just a silly cartoon.  The kids learned about things like friction, elasticity and inertia.  For example, in the first episode, Sid investigates why him and his friends can’t “slide to the side” in their sneakers but can in their socks.

Holly’s thoughts:

My kids ages 1.5 and 3 were really into the show.  After the first episode, my son asked to watch it again immediately.  Instead, we watched the second episode and learned that not all balls bounce (playdough balls don’t bounce!).  Each episode begins with a new questions that Sid sets out to investigate and has singing and dancing with teacher Susie to make learning even more fun.

Mindy’s thoughts:

Oddly enough, my daughter and I were just watching Sid the Science Kid on television this morning. I think I have seen it once before, but I never knew what it was. Today, he wanted to know why he could smell his baby brother’s poopy diaper in his room after the baby and diaper had left. haha Curious little kid!  The other product that we got to review is the Sid the Science Kid Learning Science Kit- Why are Wheels Round?.  My daughter is almost 4, so we let her work to put it together.  Low and behold, my almost 2 year old had to have his hands in on it and help.  He does love cars afterall.  The kit is cute and I love that they are able to learn from it.  They also have other kits as well.  We haven’t had a chance to have a party with our kit, but we are going to be with family this weekend, so we can’t wait for their cousins to have a party and blast playing with these as well (although we already put the car together haha).
