Sid the Science Kid, an award winning educational television series is about to start it’s second season with 12 new episodes on October 4th. We received an advanced screening copy of a few of the new episodes. Sid the Science Kid was new to us so it was fun to introduce to our kids. I loved that it wasn’t just a silly cartoon. The kids learned about things like friction, elasticity and inertia. For example, in the first episode, Sid investigates why him and his friends can’t “slide to the side” in their sneakers but can in their socks.
Holly’s thoughts:
My kids ages 1.5 and 3 were really into the show. After the first episode, my son asked to watch it again immediately. Instead, we watched the second episode and learned that not all balls bounce (playdough balls don’t bounce!). Each episode begins with a new questions that Sid sets out to investigate and has singing and dancing with teacher Susie to make learning even more fun.

Oddly enough, my daughter and I were just watching Sid the Science Kid on television this morning. I think I have seen it once before, but I never knew what it was. Today, he wanted to know why he could smell his baby brother’s poopy diaper in his room after the baby and diaper had
