Summer is right around the corner. That means my three kiddos will be home during the day. All. Day. Long. Since I work from home I can’t always entertain my kids. We do have some vacations planned and I will have plenty of time to take them to the river, go hiking and many other things. During the time I work though, I need a slew of things that will occupy them enough for me to get my jobs done. I am LOVING SmartGames products. My son loves puzzles and games as well as a good challenge. He really liked how the challenge builds with each one. Early challenges allow you to learn how the game works so you can learn strategies that will help you solve the tougher ones. He’ll play this quietly in his room before bed.

My oldest daughter likes the smaller size of this “Pockets”Game. She keeps it in her back pack. While the game is designed for individual play, the puzzle can still be worked on with a partner. I’ve played this with each of my girls — once in a hotel and once at a softball practice. It’s really challenging! I’m not very good with puzzles but found this game difficult yet captivating at the same time. My youngest daughter and a few of her friends tried solving a challenge together for at least 30 minutes! Not bad for littles!

For my creative girls, art supplies are always a win for keeping them quiet and busy. Blendy Pens are a fun spin on markers. Two pens are connected together with a shared cap in the middle. If you twist the top and bottom in opposite directions, the tips meet in the middle. Hold the pen vertically and the top color will mix into the tip of the bottom marker. When you color with it, it fades from the top color into the marker’s original color. Kids as young as four years old can color with depth and dimension, shadows, highlights and shading.
