As much as I’d like to keep my kids in highchairs for as long as possible out of convenience, I do realize the importance of teaching them to sit at the table. Back in the day many parents used a stack of phone books on a chair so their child could be at the right height at the dinner table. Ok, maybe only my parents did that. But these days there is a great product made for this specific need. The Soft Gear My Booster seat is the simple solution. Made from mold-resistant and latex free closed cell foam it’s not only soft and comfortable for your child but hygienic too.
The seat is anti-microbial so microorganisms won’t degrade the booster or affect the health of your child. The surface of the seat is easy to clean simply by wiping with a damp cloth. It’s non-slip surface and suctions cups on the bottom help keep the seat (and your child!) where it belongs. The Soft Gear My Booster is lightweight and portable and the included carrying case makes it easy to transport. Available in several different colors, the My Booster retails for around $35.
This is one of the best booster seats I’ve seen. Since it doesn’t have to be strapped to a chair it’s easy to set aside if the dining chair needs to be used for someone else. It’s also easy to grab on your way out the door to a restaurant or family’s house. It’s super lightweight and easy to use but best of all, it’s easy to keep clean. I’ve even just rinsed it off in the sink when something gets spilled on it. Most of the time it’s easy enough to just wipe down. I’ve used plenty of booster seats but this one is by far my favorite for it’s ease of use.
We have the brown seat which is think is great not just because it’s gender neutral but also because it blends in with the chair and doesn’t stick out like sore thumb. The suction on the bottom prevents the seat from sliding but doesn’t make it hard to remove. My kids don’t complain about sitting in this booster, partially because it doesn’t feel like a “baby” chair. In fact I think it boosts their confidence a little when they’re able to discreetly sit up at the table like every one else. If you are in need of a booster seat, I highly recommend the Soft Gear My Booster Seat.
