Terro Introduces New Mosquito Repellent:

The 100 percent natural granules are safe to use around people and pets and is easily applied in any area where mosquitoes are a nuisance by simply sprinkling over the desired area. The repellent’s effectiveness lasts up to three weeks!
Terro Mosquito Repellent can be used around patios, decks, campsites, pools, and houses, on lawns and in and around flower or garden beds. “The repellent releases a nicely scented botanical vapor that disorients the mosquitoes, keeping them from detecting people or pets in the immediate area,” explains Stewart Clark, technical director at Terro. “To ensure the most effective mosquito control it is critical to eliminate standing water where mosquitoes like to breed. When possible, eliminate water from empty flowerpots, driveway puddles, hot tub covers or any item that can hold water for a few days.”
Terro Mosquito Repellent comes in a 2 lb. container that will cover approximately 1000 square feet! For best results, apply to a dry surface during light or no wind. For greater repellency, higher application rates such as 3 lbs. per 1000 square feet may be used. Repeat applications every 21 days for continuous mosquito control. Do not water after application as continuous moisture can reduce the performance of the product.

Im so glad that natural and effective Bug Repellents are being developed. The keyword being “effective” as many natural bug repellents are just not effective, and the chemical bug repellents just should not be used on health grounds.

I too am excited about finding all natural products. I’m either worried about myself, my animals, or my land, when I need to use repellents.
I agree, “effective” natural products are harder to come by; however, a lot of companies are making a headway in product effectivity, in my opinion.

With all the heat and rain in our area, mosquitoes have set up a ‘command post’ in our backyard. And with three puppies, we need a bug repellent that is specifically ‘natural and effective!’
Michael, although mosquitoes are no laughing matter, you sure did make me giggle when reading about your “command post” of mosquitoes in your backyard. I have felt this way for many years – our house is in a new subdivision and we’re against open field and lakes. I quite possibly may have seen the General out in the fields yesterday while walking our two pups.
