Hey moms, how are you surviving summer? I don’t know about you but around this time every year I hit my breaking point. I love my kids and summer is awesome but I think spending 24/7 without any breaks can make anyone a little crazy. My kids are fighting a lot and I’m just over it. I take solace in any little guilty pleasures I can get and I’ll admit, you might find me hiding in my closet eating Theo Chocolate trying to enjoy a few minutes of silence as delicious treats melt in my mouth and take away some of the stress.
I was really excited to try Theo Chocolate because they’re a local Chocolatier based in Seattle. They’re something special — this is no ordinary chocolate. Now, you might find some of your favorite flavor combos but the quality and flavor will much likely be greater than what you’re used to. And if you’re looking for something unique, Theo Chocolate will not disappoint!
Chocolate and peanut butter is one of my favorite flavor combinations. You can get Organic Fair Trade Peanut Butter Cups from Theo Chocolate in Dark or Milk Chocolate. These creamy creations are to die for!
Some other fairly common flavor combo favorites are Salted Almond and Salted Toffee. Both of these bars are DELICIOUS! They’re big enough to share (if my kids are being exceptionally good, I might share with them however this chocolate is usually reserved for Mama and sometimes Dad) . I like to savor every square and just let it melt in my mouth as I enjoy the flavor.
Now for the more unique stuff. I couldn’t resist trying these flavors:
Cafe Vita Coffee & Cream —This is a smooth and delicious blend of Theo 45% milk chocolate combined with a fine grind of the special Theo + Caffe Vita blend coffee. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this because while I love coffee, I like it super sweet. I was afraid this might have a bitter taste but it was smooth and sweet, just like I like it!
Root Beer Barrel — Whoever came up with this idea was a genius! One of my favorite candies are Root Beer Barrels. These are finely crunched up and blended with 55% dark chocolate. I would have never thought of putting those two flavors together but it’s really good and I love the crunch of the candies inside.
Lemon — Orange and Raspberry are two fruit flavors that are most commonly paired with chocolate but I was really curious about the lemon. The bright flavor of the lemon shines through in just the right burst of citrus amongst 45% milk chocolate. I don’t know if the pretty yellow floral wrapper had anything to do with it but this Lemon chocolate bar really lifted my mood and put me in good spirits!
These are just a few of the many, many unique chocolate bars that Theo Chocolate has to offer. Next on my list of Theo Chocolate to try:
Theo also offers a selection of caramels. I couldn’t resist trying the Taste of Washington Caramel Collection since I am born and raised Washingtonian! This 12 piece pack is perfect for a tasting with a couple of girl friends or as something fun to do on a date night. It includes 3 caramels in each of the following flavors:
- Lavender
- Apple Cider
- Caffe Vita Coffee
- Cherry
I love how each caramel square is decorated so that the flavor can be identified. There is a “key” on the box so you know which one is which. The Lavender one definitely tastes like lavender. I love lavender, but not for eating so this one wasn’t my favorite though if you love the flavor of lavender, you will without a doubt love this one! My personal favorite was the Apple Cider but the Caffe Vita Coffee was a very close second. The cherry was really good too!
Theo Chocolate isn’t just good chocolate. They’re a good company with good values. As the first Organic and Fair Trade certified chocolate factory in North America, Theo Chocolate’s founding principle is that the finest chocolate in the world can (and should) be produced in an entirely ethical, regenerative fashion.
Every Theo purchase directly supports the livelihoods of over 5,500 cocoa farmers in their supply chain and their 30,000 family members, enabling farmers to send their children to school, feed their families, and reinvest in their communities.
