My oldest daughter’s greatest love is craft projects. She lives for them! She’s very creative and I love that but I don’t have a lot of extra time to sit down and do projects with her. I like ones that need very little guidance so I can sit nearby and help her as needed. McKinley is very proud of her final product, little sister is a bit jealous, and mom is pleased with the creative process. This kit came with everything we needed to make a super cute apron. I like that they kept it simple with just two colors. The stencils had adhesive backing to help keep them in place so I didn’t have to help with that part. The only part I help with was helping her decide where to place the stencils. After showing her how to dab the paint on with the sponge dauber tool she was ready to take on the rest of the project all by herself!
We also received a similar kit for a creating a table runner. It is a bit more advanced with an 8+ suggested age. It requires some simple sewing stitches and cutting out your own stencils. The creativity level is higher and so is the time commitment. This might be a fun weekend project for us to do together but with a super busy fall schedule, we haven’t had a lot of time to do things like this together.
