Now that my kids are getting a little older, I’m becoming more aware of the content in children’s TV shows and movies. It’s strange because I was a nanny for over 10 years prior to having children of my own but have never been more aware than I am now. Even Disney movies have questionable content. When my son started using the word “idiot” I couldn’t figure out where he had heard it. Guess what? It was Toy Story. He also started saying “stupid” and “shut up”. Ugh. One of my kids favorite movies is Ratatouille. There is a scene in that movie where one of the characters gets drunk on a bottle of wine. I had always thought that Disney movies would be safe.

What TV shows and movies do you allow your kids to watch? Do you set limits on how much screen time they get per day/week? I’d love to hear how other parents handle this. Please share with us by leaving a comment!
