Wonderful Halos Citrus Fruit #Giveaway

The holidays tend to be filled with sweet after sweet — candies, cookies, hot chocolate, decadent desserts.  It can get a little out of control.  I like to try and battle it with sweet fruit that my kids like as an alternative.  I love it when Wonderful Halos are in season because my kids absolutely LOVE mandarins!  If I make them available, it’s their go-to snack and helps battle the sweet tooth!

Wonderful Halos are a winter citrus grown in California orchards by the same people that bring us Wonderful Pistachios and POM Wonderful — Yum!

Wonderful Halos mandarins are:

• A sweet, seedless and easy to peel snack that’s a healthy alternative to fatty foods
• About 50 calories delivering 45 percent of the recommended daily value of vitamin C

Mandarins are in season November through April.  They are easy to pack in lunches, great to share at kid’s activities and sporting events, and make a healthy snack choice any time of the day.

If you find yourself at a mall this month, look for Halo!  They are working with local malls across the country in a fun partnership with Adventures to Santa.  Kids can enter special Halos giveaway or stop at a craft station during their trip to meet Santa.  We found some neat coloring pages and crayon table at our local mall. The Oakbrook Mall in Chicago and Southwest Plaza in Denver will host a special Santa’s house co-presented with Dreamworks, providing kids with an experiential experience with opportunities to interact with characters like Shrek and a multitude of fun activities.
