A few months ago I gave my 6 year old’s room a makeover on a budget. I was able to paint his walls and buy new curtains and a bedding set. We chose grey for the walls and navy for the curtains. The bedding set is blue, green and grey. We were setting up for a Seahawks theme but our budget ran out before we got to wall decor. It didn’t deter Jackson. He made a Seahawks pennant out of paper and stuck it to the wall above his bed.
Unbeknownst to him, I had my eye on a Seattle Seahawks Logo Fathead that I thought would be perfect of his room. His 7th birthday was yesterday so while he was at school I snuck in and gave his room another makeover. I love his creativity but doesn’t the Seahawks Logo Fathead look awesome above his bed?
It only took me minutes to install and I was able to do it by myself. It really is as easy is peeling it off the backing and sticking it to the wall. If you don’t get it right the first time you can easily move it as it’s re-positionable.
The Seattle Seahawks Logo Fathead came with some smaller pieces too so I used them in different places around his room. Now he really DOES have a Seahawks room!
Since this was one of Jackson’s birthday presents I stuck a little bow and Happy Birthday sign next to the Fathead.
I wanted to video tape his reaction because I was sure he would be ecstatic. His little sister all but told him the surprise on the way home from school so it wasn’t quite what I had been expecting. Still, at his party he kept taking people up to his room to show the Fatheads off and when I asked him if he liked he said “No, Mom….I don’t like it. I LOVE it! It’s awesome!” The Fatheads were also in the top 3 gifts he got (he couldn’t choose just one!)
Over the past year or so Jackson has developed into a huge sports nut. Football (and the Seahawks of course) is his favorite. A Fathead is the ultimate gift for any sports lover. It’s unique and super cool. I wonder if Fatheads are like tattoos — you can’t get just one. We already have the perfect spot picked out for a player Fathead but we are debating which player it should be. I say Richard Sherman, the Hubs says Russell Wilson and Jackson is leaning towards Percy Harvin. Then of course there’s Marshawn Lynch — they are all so cool!
