When I was a teenager I used to babysit a lot. I had a bag of fun things like crafts, stickers and coloring books that I would bring with me to keep the kids entertained. I always brought my favorite Disney movie — Aladdin. Now over 20 years later Disney’s original animated classic is a part of the highly celebrated Signature Collection. The film takes its place alongside “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pinocchio,” “Bambi,” “The Lion King,” “Lady and the Tramp,” “Peter Pan,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Cinderella.” Aladdin was the highest-grossing film of 1992 and a two-time Academy Award®–winner!
I’m glad to see this movie make a comeback of sorts though it never really left. With the passing of Robin Williams, the voice of the Genie, this movie takes on even more sentimental value. I really enjoyed watching it with my kids and look forward to watching it with my grandkids in the far off future. It’s a classic that I will personally never tire of!
Songs from the movie including “A Whole New World, “Friend Like Me” and “Prince Ali” brought memories flooding back. I believe at one time I even owned the soundtrack! The songs are really catchy and fun. New sing along versions are included in the bonus materials. Also included are hours of classic bonus gems, from hilarious outtakes with the legendary Robin Williams (voice of Genie) to an in-depth discussion with directors John Musker and Ron Clements.
You can check out the trailer to the movie here:
Both movies are already available on Digital and will be available physically on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD on Sept. 10. I highly recommend adding these movies to your family’s collection. You can check out Aladdin at http://movies.disney.com/Aladdin-2019 and on Social Media via the links below:
