Essential oils are becoming increasingly popular. It’s no wonder why. They are great for so many things! Whether you’re looking for chemical free ways to make your home smell great, wishing to have more natural options for your family’s health and wellness or are interested in natural beauty products, the Simply Earth subscription box is an excellent way to build your collection of oils and learn how to use them in a variety of ways.
Simply Earth is a monthly subscription box that contains 4 full sized bottles of essential oils plus 6 recipe cards and the extra ingredients you’ll need to make the recipes. You’ll also get a set of sticker labels. When you order your first box you’ll receive a BONUS BOX for FREE! This box contains commonly used ingredients and supplies you’ll use with recipes in future boxes. My box contained 6 roller bottles, 6 dropper bottles, coconut oil, almond oil, solid coconut oil and beeswax.
The September box’s theme is Soap Making. Cajeput, Bay, Lemongrass and Happy Joy are the oils that were included. It also came with glycerine soap base and a cute little soap mold. I was excited about this box because as much as I’ve used essential oils, I had never made soap! It was surprisingly easy to do and the soaps smell SO good! The box came with enough supplies to make 3 little soaps plus the awesome recipe cards with instructions how to make them. I love the recipe cards because I can collect them and use them later. I’m thinking the soaps would make great stocking stuffers and teacher gifts!
The soap on the left is the Happy Joy facial soap. The recipe called for lemon zest as an optional ingredient. I didn’t have a lemon so I used lime. The soap on the right is the Sugar Scrub Soap Bar. It called for cinnamon and sugar, both common ingredients in most households. That’s another thing I love about Simply Earth. The boxes come with everything you need with the exception of very common things you are likely to already have on hand so you won’t have to go out and hunt for special supplies or ingredients. The last soap I made which isn’t pictured was the Flowers & Spice and Something Nice Soap. The instruction said to stick in a small toy or some dried flowers. I didn’t have dried flowers so I used a little Shopkins toy of my daughter’s thinking she’d love the soap surprise. The toy, while small, was still a bit too big so it didn’t get fully enclosed inside the soap.
I wrapped the soaps in saran wrap and put the included stickers on the back. I have some twine that would be cute wrapped around them if I make more as gifts. All three of these soaps smell fantastic and I can’t wait to use them! I love the little silicone mold. It was really easy to pop the soaps out of once they were set. I never knew soap making would be so fun and rewarding!
Next I used a roller bottle from my bonus box to make the Happy Joy Roll On. Simply Earth provides quality products. The roller bottles have metal roller balls which are essential because the oils can break down plastic rollers and cause chemicals to leach into your product. Happy Joy is a really uplifting oil blend so having it handy in a roller bottle is perfect for a pick-me-up! Just keep it in your purse and roll it on whenever you need it!
One of the ways I use my oils the most is by diffusing them. They make my house smell great and depending on the blend can even help alleviate headaches, cold symptoms and more. The Flowers and Spice Diffuser blend recipe smells so good! You can try out a recipe in your diffuser and if you love it, you can use a dropper bottle from your bonus box to create a master blend.
The last thing from the September box was a recipe for a Lemongrass, Cajeput and Bay Compress. This is something you’d make when you need it. It has a variety of uses from fever reducing to pain relief. You might use a cold compress for varicose veins or pain due to inflammation or a warm compress to help relieve cramps, fever or congestion.
As you can see, Simply Earth subscription boxes have a wide variety of uses and will help you put your essential oils to use in ways you might not otherwise thought to! These are all suggested uses but each oil has many different benefits. Simply Earth educates you so they can be used properly. Information is included in your box but you can also find helpful blog posts and even more recipes on the Simply Earth website.
Essential oils can be expensive but Simply Earth makes it VERY affordable! A Simply Earth Recipe box is just $39 and always includes 4 full sized oils making them less than $10 per bottle. That’s a steal! Plus, the recipe box always comes with additional supplies and ensures you know exactly how to get the most out of your oils. They’re worth nothing if they just sit on your shelf unused!
