My daughter’s favorite thing to do during free time in her class at school is Perler Beads. She asked for some for her birthday to do at home but I’ve been hesitant to buy them for a number of reasons. One, she’s 10 and while probably capable of using an iron by herself, I’d rather not take the risk of burns or setting the house on fire. She once microwaved a biscuit for 15 minutes and it caught on fire. Secondly, she already has an overwhelming amount of little Perler Bead doodads taking over the house that I have no idea what to do with. Photo Pearls is the perfect gift solution for my creative girl!
This craft kit uses the medium of her choice but does not need to be ironed! It comes with over 7,000 beads in a wide range of colors and a free Photo Pearls app that creates a “key” to “pearlize” photo images! Rather than creating random designs (which you could still do if desired), the crafter can recreate a favorite photo in beads for display.
It comes with four of these plastic design boards which can be hooked together to create your design. Rather than using heat, adhesive sheets hold your design together. Photo Pearls is the perfect solution to my gifting needs. Any teen or tween that likes to craft will love Photo Pearls! Visit the Photo Pearls website to watch a video and see some finished projects here. They’re pretty amazing! Ready to purchase? You can find Photo Pearls on Amazon for under $30 with free shipping!
