Need a breath of fresh air? Kathy Walsh has written a series of books that focus on positive thinking. The newly released Spiritually Savvy Kids book series helps put balance in our children’s lives that are often over-booked or loaded with screen time. Encourage positive thinking and teach your children that gratitude is the key to a joyful life. Each book in the series includes fun activities for parents to do with their children to reinforce the message of the book. One of my favorite activities is from the Gratitude is a Funny Thing book: Making a Gratitude journal. Have them decorate the cover and inside of a notebook and use it to write down something that they are grateful for each day.
All of the books feature beautiful, bright and colorful illustrations by Kim Winton or Veronica Swain. Each book is a quick read — around 15 to 20 pages with only a sentence or so on each. From coping techniques to inspirational messages, these books open a dialog to talk to our children about the things that are important in life.
Titles in the series include:
“Love is the Moon, the Stars and the Sky”, “Gratitude is a Funny Thing”, The Bright Blue Balloon”, and “Life is a Rainbow”.
The are available in select bookstores and online www.spirituallysavvykids.com for around $12 each.
